WHO WE ARE :

The Law Offices of Ryan Henry, PLLC is growing again. We are seeking an associate attorney with 2-5 years of experience to represent governmental entities in central and south Texas. Our firm of 6 attorneys offers a flexible work environment with benefits and top-notch legal support personnel. While we work hard for our clients, we also have a relaxed atmosphere within the office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions :

  • Drafting pleadings and discovery requests and responding accordingly.
  • Attend board and commission meetings.
  • Conducting discovery, including conducting interviews and reviewing documents.
  • Communicating with clients.
  • Conducting research on legal issues.
  • Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance to all job assignments, meetings and appearances.
  • Supervise and provide guidance and leadership to support staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Aptitude for detailed, analytical thinking.
  • Ability to communicate and present analysis and information both orally and in writing in a clear and effective manner.
  • Ability to support and interact with clients, adjusters, and other lawyers and paralegals in a professional manner.
  • Ability to track multiple job assignments by prioritizing, calendaring, and executing the job assignments and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively keep track of time spent on each task and job assignment and enter that time accurately and timely for billing purposes.
  • Ability to work with a team, to jump into tasks and provide support, and to delegate and communicate effectively with co-workers on job assignments.
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, interviewing witnesses, and professional conferences.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND PREFERANCES :

  • A member of the Texas bar in good standing is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is also required.
  • Municipal prosecution or similar prosecutorial experience preferred.
