Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking Senior Roadway Construction Inspector (TET III-V) for immediate employment; the employee will be assigned to construction projects in the Frederick, MD area. The employee can look forward to projects including various highway and bridge construction projects in Maryland.
Duties may include, but will not be limited to :
- Oversees and perform field inspections to monitor road conditions, bridges, road construction, and traffic, and materials used in road construction and repair.
- Must be able to read and interpret plans for construction projects.
- Reviews construction, maintenance or traffic projects for compliance with project specifications and plans.
- Compiles quantities, reviews construction reports, generates daily inspection reports and a daily diary of work completed by contractors each day.
- Coaches, mentors, and recommends training for staff
- Participates in various contractual meetings
Qualifications
Minimum requirements :
High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience (or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education) with State DOT Transportation Projects focusing on the supervision of construction inspection and contract complianceValid Driver's license and reliable transportation required to regularly travel to project sitesAs a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records reviewPreferred qualifications :
Candidates will be required to achieve or possess certification in the field-testing procedures in concrete, soil aggregate, hot mix asphalt and other construction topics from various coursesCandidates should possess elementary knowledge of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and EnglishIntroductory knowledge of elementary engineering methods and techniquesAbility to compute simple engineering data and work from simple plans and specificationsAbility to make drawings, tracings, and accurate notesGood communication skills; oral and writtenBasic computer skills; MS OfficeExcellent time management skills; self-motivator, team orientedAttention to detailOrganizational skillsWillingness to learn
