Samuels Seafood Company , the premier distributor of fresh and frozen seafood in the U.S., is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Credit and Collections Manager to join our fast-paced and dynamic team. Position Summary :
The Credit and Collections Manager will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the credit and collections process. This role provides strategic leadership while directly managing the day-to-day operations of the Credit and Collections Department. The ideal candidate is a superior communicator, skilled in resolving complex issues, and committed to delivering exceptional internal and external customer service.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage the Credit and Collections Department, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Supervise credit staff, providing coaching, direction, and support as needed.
- Develop and implement collection strategies to minimize risk and reduce delinquent accounts.
- Evaluate creditworthiness of customers using financial statements, credit reports, and payment history.
- Monitor account master data and ensure accurate account setup and maintenance.
- Analyze aging reports and prepare performance metrics and productivity reports.
- Partner with the sales team to resolve disputes and facilitate timely collections.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance departmental effectiveness.
- Personally manage high-risk or complex accounts when needed.
- Maintain knowledge of aging reports and industry best practices.
Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years of high-volume B2B collections experience.Minimum 3 years managing a high-volume, fast-paced Credit and Collections Department.Strong knowledge of credit policies, practices, and accounting principles.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate to expert level).Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and discipline.What We Offer :
