License : Valid state license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have : Critical care experience, Inpatient, Level I Trauma Center, Phase I PACU experience, Dysrhythmia recognition / management, Blood Product Administration, Phlebotomy, Starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, Care of Ventilated patients

Description :

Open to reviewing candidates with level 2 ICU experience.

Night shift would require learning how to work up a preoperative patient.

Average daily census is 70-90.

There are 38 patient bays.

The unit consists of a vast array of acute postoperative patients.

Critical care experience is required, as some patients require artificial airways, invasive monitoring including ICP, transfusions, and vasoactive medications.

Surgical patients recovered include neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, gynecological, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant.

Open heart surgeries or liver transplants are not recovered.

Patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients.

Some patients have high acuity and may require specialized care.

Preoperative work includes EKG rhythm analysis, transfusion preparation, blood drawing, and IV starting capabilities.

Candidates should be well-rounded with ICU experience.

Experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia is required.

Candidates must pass the EKG exam.

All travelers will float within the service line as needed.

Care is provided in a team environment with interdisciplinary support.

This position requires a commitment to high standards of patient care.
