Key Job Details - ICU RN Travel Assignment Location : Bangor, ME 04401 (Northern Maine healthcare jobs) Facility : Level II Trauma Center, 26-bed ICU with negative pressure rooms Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Start Date : November 12, 2025 End Date : February 7, 2026 Contract Length : 12 weeks Shift : 12-hour night shifts (7P-7A) Hours per Week : 36 guaranteed Weekend Rotation : Every other weekend Estimated Weekly Pay : $1970 - $2110 Free parking available ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maine or compact state) Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required PALS certification preferred (opportunity to float to PICU if experienced) Neuro and trauma ICU experience required (EVD, ICP monitoring) Proficient in ventilator management, critical care drips, drain management, stroke care, hemodynamic lines (A-lines / CVP), cardiac rhythm recognition, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and strong assessment skills Cerner charting experience preferred ICU RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical, surgical, trauma, neuro, ortho, and interventional ICU patients Manage complex critical care cases including multi-system trauma, sepsis, ARDS, DKA, stroke, and COVID-19 Monitor and manage ICP, EVD, and spinal precautions Float to Cardiac Care Unit, Cardiac Stepdown, Medical Stepdown, or PICU (if qualified) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team : charge nurses, resource nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, intensivists, and trauma surgery team Utilize Cerner for electronic documentation and Alaris / Pyxis equipment Participate in hospital orientation and unit-specific training Maintain professionalism and adhere to dress code (solid color scrubs) Discover the charm of Bangor, Maine—a welcoming city with a vibrant arts scene, beautiful riverfront, and easy access to Acadia National Park.
