HSS is seeking compassionate caregivers to serve as Direct Service Providers (DSP) in our Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) homes. This role is perfect for emotionally mature professionals who are passionate about supporting people living with developmental disabilities. We are looking for dependable, caring support workers to teach daily living skill to adults with intellectual disabilities in their homes and communities to :

  • Empower and support individuals to live self-directed lives
  • Support and Advocate for people with intellectual disabilities
  • Teach independent living skills including but not limited to, cooking, cleaning, hygiene and emergency readiness
  • Promote Health and Wellness, including passing medication
  • Support in building and maintaining healthy friendships and relationships
  • Teach coping skills and provide support to individuals in crisis
  • Helping individuals gain access to community resources and participation in community events
  • Maintain accurate, concise, current clinical documentation as required by state and federal guidelines

    • Requirements :

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Have adequate transportation to be able to move from site to site
  • Ability to drive a regular size and larger size van or willing to be trained
  • Drive in large cities
  • Able to lift and walk flights of stairs
  • Constitution to handle body excrements
  • Must be emotionally stable enough to react appropriately to a consumer in crisis
