About The Position

License : Iowa State License

Certifications : ACLS, BLS

Must-Have : Strong cardiac, vascular, and thoracic proficiency; Level I trauma experience

Description :

Contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process.

Works as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

Patient types primarily include cardiac cases.

The average patient ratio is 1 : 1.

The facility features 16 ORs, running 12-14 routinely.

Average caseload is 35-50 cases per day.

Expectations for turnovers are less than 20 minutes.

The facility utilizes 3 Da Vinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation.

Surgical specialties include cardiac, vascular, neuro, ortho (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general, pediatrics, and transplant surgeries.

There is a small volume of ENT and plastic procedures performed.

The role may involve both scrub and circulate duties.

Call for weekends is from the end of shift on Friday until 6 : 30 AM on Monday.

Travelers will be required to float across all campuses within the system.

A limit of 1 day request off is permitted between specified holiday periods for all travelers.

Requires a supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within 2 years of employment or contract.

Proof of a taxable address may be required for local traveler policy compliance.
