Associate HVAC Engineer

Wilson, NC

Contract| Eligible to become FTE

Job Description : The Associate HVAC Engineer will support the design, operation, and maintenance of HVAC systems critical to the biologics manufacturing environment at our clients pharmaceutical facility. This role ensures that environmental systems meet regulatory, safety, and performance standards in support of cGMP operations.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of HVAC principles, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.
  • Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Skillbridge, Internship or co-op experience in HVAC design or facilities engineering
  • Exposure to cleanroom HVAC design and GMP environments
  • Understanding of building automation systems (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens)
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE, IMC, and FDA cleanroom classifications
  • Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the design, specification, and layout of HVAC systems for cleanrooms, laboratories, and production spaces.
  • Support commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) of HVAC systems and building automation systems (BAS).
  • Monitor HVAC system performance and support troubleshooting and optimization efforts.
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure HVAC systems meet operational and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, including drawings, SOPs, and validation protocols.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions (CAPAs) related to HVAC performance.
  • Ensure compliance with ASHRAE standards, FDA regulations, and internal quality systems.
