Overview
Technical Writer role located in Charleston, SC for Cambridge International Systems, Inc. This is a full-time CONUS position.

Responsibilities
- Writes and updates material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications related to work methods, procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Acquires assignments from supervisor.
- Studies production, developmental, and experimental activities to determine operating procedure and detail.
- Interviews production and engineering personnel and reviews journals, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods.
- Reviews manufacturers\' and trade catalogs, drawings, and other data relative to operation, maintenance, and service.
- Studies blueprints, flowcharts, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mock ups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail.
- Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Reviews published materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
- May maintain records and files of work and revisions.
- May select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material.
- May assist in laying out material for publication and arrange for typing, duplication, and distribution of material.
Qualifications
Education & Experience : Bachelor\'s degree in English, Journalism, or Technical Writing and 3 years of experience creating, editing, and reviewing technical documentation, procedures and guidelines for C4ISR or similar systems or equipment.Technical Expertise : Proficiency with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies; ability to use various technologies and systems relevant to the position. Three years of experience creating, editing, and reviewing technical documentation, procedures and guidelines for C4ISR or similar systems or equipment.Certifications : Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies.Work Environment
Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY / OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.Office setting; primarily an office-based role in Charleston, SC.Standard desk / computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on site.Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk and looking at a computer for most of the workday.Work is physically comfortable with discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.May be required to travel short distances to offices / conference rooms and buildings on site.Background & Security
