Maintenance Worker-Facilities
This position is responsible for the maintenance of the City of Auburn's facilities. This position reports to the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator.
Essential Job Functions :
- Performs troubleshooting and maintenance duties related to facilities maintenance.
- Performs grounds maintenance duties.
- Performs minor repair and maintenance duties related to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Performs cleaning duties at city facilities.
- Performs facilities maintenance duties through use of various tools and equipment.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Education and Experience : High school diploma or equivalent; one (1) to two (2) years' experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Alabama Class B Commercial Driver's License within six months of employment.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a Class C UST Operator Certificate.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

The work is medium work, which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, or walking. The employee uses tools or equipment requiring manual dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell.
Work Environment :
The work is typically performed in various indoor and outdoor environments. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, irritating chemicals, and occasional cold or inclement weather. The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
