The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia, is expanding and adding a position for an Accountant.
This position will be responsible for managing fixed assets, tracking cash, preparing payroll, administering credit policies, managing customer profiles, posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and performing other duties throughout the month and during the month-end close, as identified by the Accounting Supervisor.

Responsibilities
Establish standard cost, variance analysis, and corresponding journal entriesAnalyze inventory transactions and month-end balancesCost analysisOperations analysisFixed asset accountingReconciling general and subledger accounts by gathering and balancing informationProvide operational, sales, and financial reports using both the ERP system and resources from inside the organizationMaintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures in addition to complying with federal, state, and Sarbanes-Oxley complianceWork intra-departmentally to help in the analysis of actual results vs. planSpecial projects and additional duties as assignedQualifications
Required
At least a 4-year degree in accountingHigh level of proficiency with Microsoft ExcelA minimum of two years public accounting experienceAbility to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to execute and follow-through to completion and documentationDedication to minor details and ensuring accuracy of all work productsExceptional and proven verbal and written communication skills, with all levels of managementExperience with ERP or accounting softwareSteel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
