Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a Database Administrator on a team delivering administrative, scientific, technical and logistical support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI). Your team will stand up a new NIH DPCPSI Office of Research Innovation, Validation and Application (ORIVA). Responsibilities include tool development and performing web and database curation and management to support utilizing modeling methods such as computational approaches and New Approach Methodologies (NAMs).

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Be an integral part of scientific team including researchers, data analysts and programmers
- Design, build, and maintain relational and non-relational databases optimized for health research, including security, access, and documentation, quality control, and validation checks
- Administer database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation, and configuration management
- Develop ETL pipelines to integrate biomedical, clinical, and real-world data
- Collaborate with researchers and data scientists to translate requirements into database solutions
- Optimize database performance and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting
- Integrate NIH databases and tools such as statistical methods, ensuring interoperability
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED :
Required :
MA / MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Bioinformatics, or related field and 3+ years of professional experience in database design, management, and administrationProficiency in SQL and experience with at least one major database platform such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or OracleHands-on experience with ETL processes and data integrationFamiliarity with healthcare or biomedical data such as EHR, claims, or registriesStrong problem-solving and collaboration skillsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsPreferred :
Advanced degree in Data Science, Health Informatics, or Biomedical EngineeringBackground in bioinformatics, health informatics, or computational modelingExperience in NAMs or a related scientific field such as biology or chemistryFamiliarity with toxicology modeling and ML / AI approaches applied to health dataExperience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPKnowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and unstructured dataPrevious experience with Health and Human Services (HHS) and / or NIHLocation : Onsite
