License : Current State Registered Nurse Licensure
Certifications : Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Must-Have : Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification
Description :
Provide patient care and assistance to providers.
Demonstrate proficiency and independence in the care of patients and their families.
Apply and document the nursing process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Consult with staff and management on nursing problems and the interpretation of hospital policies.
Continue to learn new skills and maintain clinical competency to provide direct and safe patient care.
Experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
Hold chemo certification in an infusion practice.
Possess basic computer skills.
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Perform related responsibilities as assigned.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide services based on the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and other criteria appropriate to the assigned patient population.
Maintain required core competencies.
Comply with set policies and procedures, including dress code and behavior standards.
Display respect, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
Assist doctors with patient care.
Demonstrate knowledge in a medical office through appropriate equipment use and patient treatments specific to the specialty.
Anticipate doctor’s needs based on each patient’s treatment plan.
Verify that patient results, lab reports, and procedure reports are available prior to consultations.
Gather patient vitals and reasons for visits, documenting them in the medical record.
Maintain accuracy in phone triage and respond to patient communication promptly.
Complete lab requisition forms and ensure specimens are sent to the correct labs.
Keep exam and procedure rooms clean, organized, and appropriately stocked.
Perform minor procedures as directed by the physician, such as injections and suture removal.
Adhere to established medication management protocols to meet patient safety guidelines.
If applicable, provide ordered infusion treatments while monitoring patient conditions and reporting changes to the provider.
Maintain the ability to float to other practices as needed.
Support the nursing philosophy of caring by acting as a patient advocate.
Communicate effectively with individuals of varying ages and cultures.
Answer and route telephone calls appropriately.
Support the mission and philosophy of the organization.
Respect confidentiality in all aspects of work.
Maintain professional relationships with co-workers and providers.
Utilize the appropriate chain of command to resolve issues.
Demonstrate reliability in meeting assigned shifts.
