Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position in an academic Level 1 trauma setting with Epic EMR experience and advanced certifications required. Responsibilities Work in a 25-bed adult Med / Surg Tele unit within a teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center Patient population includes multi-trauma, TBI, open fractures, post-back and abdominal surgeries, and some telemetry cases RN patient ratio is 1 : 5-6, acuity dependent Required to float to any adult unit based on competencies Shift starts at 0630 with every other weekend rotation required No on-call responsibilities Travelers will work 75% of holidays Utilizes Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell for medication dispensing Telemetry monitoring is centrally monitored remotely by techs Responsibilities include care for patients with trauma and post-surgical needs and performing complex wound care and medication infusions Supported by CNA staff, unit secretary, charge nurse, 24 / 7 hospitalist, intensivist, and trauma team IV starts performed by unit RNs with expertise in ultrasound-guided IV insertion 2-day departmental orientation provided Scrub color is royal blue Friendly, cohesive, and teamwork-oriented unit culture Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required At least 1 year of recent Med / Surg Tele experience Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Ability to perform skills such as PCA, chest tubes, trachs, surgical drains, NGT, wound care, wound vacs, ketamine drips, heparin, and cardiac drips Experience with Epic EMR preferred Will consider first-time travelers based on experience Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-612143.
