Responsibilities
- Advocate for clients throughout all phases of criminal matters, establishing professional relationships and providing comprehensive legal counsel.
- Conduct thorough case investigations, reviewing law enforcement reports and discovery materials to build effective defense strategies.
- Maintain open and transparent communication, keeping clients informed about investigations, negotiations, and court rulings.
- Appear regularly in court dockets and all related appearances, effectively litigating cases at the trial court level.
- Research statutes, regulations, and pertinent court decisions, preparing legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and briefs for hearings, trials, and proceedings.
- Prepare cases and witnesses for trial, ensuring a strategic and holistic approach to legal representation.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal services, fostering a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
Licensed to practice law in Missouri; awaiting bar results, or holding a bar license from a different state.Passion for criminal defense and commitment to justice for indigent clients.Strong communication and advocacy skills, with the ability to manage a diverse caseload efficiently and with attention to detail.Willingness to work in varied settings and adapt as necessary; collaborative spirit to work effectively with support staff and the legal team.Openness to continuous learning and participation in training programs; attendance of continuing legal education (CLE) sessions as required.Benefits
