Party Chief / Project Surveyor (Field to Finish)

Base pay range
$62,200.00 / yr - $150,000.00 / yr
What you'll do
- Perform control, boundary, topography, laser scanning and other surveying tasks.
- Perform construction staking.
- Collect survey data using GNSS receivers, scanners, total stations, levels, and survey controllers.
- Produce clear and concise field notes and quality field data.
- Communicate with supervisor and office staff about important aspects of the project.
- Work outdoors in variable weather conditions and varied terrain.
- Perform field duties on a one- or two-person crew, including field crew setup and geodetic control network planning and design.
- Coordinate with a multi-discipline team and ensure adherence to QC plans and safety protocols.
Office responsibilities
Control survey processing and adjustment.Construction staking preparation and quality checking.Feature processing of topographic field data and generation / editing of Digital Terrain Models (DTMs).Title commitment review and public records research.COGO calculations and boundary resolution; writing property descriptions; obtaining permits and Right of Entry.Assisting Project Manager in estimating surveying tasks and scheduling.Collaborate with a multi-discipline team and adhere to company policies and safety procedures.Participate in department and field crew training; represent Jacobs professionally.Qualifications
Experience working with surveying data using Civil3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar CAD programs.Proven ability to complete technical aspects of surveying tasks.Good social and communication skills; reputation as a trusted member of the surveying community.Valid driver's license; ability to travel up to 50% of the time (primarily within CA, NV, and AZ).Ability to pass drug screen and background checks.Preferred
Experience with Trimble equipment and software.Associate or bachelor's degree in an applicable field.3 to 5 years of experience as an Instrument Operator, Party Chief, Survey Technician, or Project Surveyor.Benefits and employment details
