The Business Relationship Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with business members, focusing on deposit growth, lending referrals, and financial solutions. This role actively pursues new business opportunities, fosters partnerships, and represents the organization at networking and community events. The Business Relationship Manager also works to expand MCCU’s presence in the local market by identifying and participating in relevant business activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand MCCU’s member base.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing businesses, Select Employer Groups (SEGs), and business partners.
- Serve as the primary liaison for business members, ensuring their financial needs are met.
- Provide financial solutions, including deposit accounts and payment services, tailored to business members.
- Assist with onboarding new business members, ensuring a seamless account opening and service experience.
- Regularly contact existing and potential business members to strengthen relationships, provide financial advice, and identify additional product needs.
- Track and report key business development activities and progress against goals.
- Representing the organization at networking events, business expos, and community activities.
- Organize and participate in SEG and business partner related events, benefits fairs, and staff meetings.
- Conduct engaging and informative presentations for businesses, employee groups, and community organizations.
- Promote products and services through various outreach efforts, including direct marketing, email campaigns, and social media.
- Distribute marketing materials and promotional content to SEGs and business partners.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including BSA / OFAC / CIP guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date SEG files, including key contact details, employee figures, and penetration metrics.
- Track SEG penetration and monitor business growth trends.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with both co-workers and members by actively embracing and demonstrating MCCU's culture, known as IMPACT.
Essential Job Requirements
3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or financial services, preferably in a B2B or retail banking setting.Knowledge of public relations, business financials, and lending referral practices.Experience in community engagement and partnership development.Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus.Preferred experience working with Select Employer Groups (SEGs) or community-based outreach initiativesSkills / Abilities
Proven ability to develop business relationships and drive growth.Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present to groups effectively.Ability to provide tailored financial solutions and exceptional member service.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.Proactive approach to identifying and resolving member challenges.Familiarity with banking systems, CRM software, and digital communication tools.Physical / Mental Requirements of the Position
