Responsibilities Work in the Telemetry Float Pool across acute hospital settings, including Tele, Neuro, MedSurg, and observation units Float between all Telemetry and MedSurg units, with possible assignments to ICU, Cath Lab, ER, and holding areas as needed Notification of float location is provided 1.5 hours prior to shift start, with rare cross-campus floating between two nearby campuses Shifts are 12 hours (7-7), with day shift availability and 4 required weekend shifts per schedule Patient ratios are typically 1 : 3-4 for Telemetry / Neuro and 1 : 4 for MedSurg units Centralized telemetry monitoring, GE monitors on MedSurg units, and Cerner EMR are used May be assigned to units with post-cath lab, post-vascular, post-surgical, neuro, orthopedic, oncology, and general MedSurg patients No pediatrics; patient population is ages 15 and older Responsibilities include providing comprehensive telemetry care and monitoring cardiac status for a diverse adult patient population Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays and every other weekend Scrub color is navy Orientation includes 12 hours plus two unit-specific floor shifts Must pass a dysrhythmia exam and Sim Lab to begin assignment; failure results in ineligibility for six months Support available from charge nurses (no patient assignments), clinical supervisors, and PCTs Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24 / 7 Unit-specific phone systems (Spectralink) in use for communication Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status if residing in AZ, NV, NE, IA, or MN Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required Must be proficient with titrating cardiac drips (e.g., Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine) Ability to interpret EKGs and pass a pre-contract dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed) Must pass a Sim Lab assessment on day one of orientation Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Ability to float to a variety of units based on skillset Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618248.
