Supply Chain Specialist 3 - Kiewit Supply Network
The Supply Chain Specialist 3 provides negotiation, training, and high-risk / legal-related support for project procurement and administration activities for Kiewit Corp. In this role, you will interface with the Project Supply Chain Managers, Supply Chain Specialist, Project Managers, Legal Counsel, Supply Chain Directors, and Sponsors for escalated issues.
Individuals with experience in an engineering and / or construction related role as well as basic procurement experience is desired, but not required. We're looking for a team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives. This position could be located in Lenexa, KS or Lone Tree, CO.
Responsibilities
- Support supply chain with identification of mandatory and recommended prime contract flow-down clauses for incorporation into vendor contract templates, and work with Supply Chain Managers to develop / review project-specific templates.
- Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings.
- Confer with staff, users and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or service and determine corrective action.
- Leverage vendors / subcontractors across multiple procurements to create cost savings to projects.
- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier's reputation and history.
- Monitor shipments to ensure goods come in on time and resolve problems related to undelivered goods.
- Prepare / issue Request for Proposals (RFP's) and evaluate vendor / subcontractor proposals to identify vendors / subcontractors who meet project constraints of budget and schedule at the estimating, execution and site purchasing levels.
- Assist in the development of company-wide procurement templates.
- Assist in negotiating high-risk contracts for various projects.
- Work to resolve escalated, complex, or disputed contract issues.
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships and manage supplier-specific vendor template negotiations.
- Support procurement staff meetings and provide legal communication to the team as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management or related OR relevant experienceMinimum of 5 years' experience in an Engineering and / or Construction related role (required)Minimum of 3 years' negotiation experience (preferred)Experience and understanding of ContractsThorough understanding of all areas of procurement is desirable, including procurement execution, estimating, expediting, offsite supplier quality and site purchasingProficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel)General knowledge of database utilizationSAP Experience a plusHighly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiativeStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first timeDemonstrated commitment to ethics and integrityPassion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurtStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsOther Requirements : Regular, reliable attendance. Base Compensation : $90,000 - $110,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and / or location)
