Job Description : Job Summary

The Senior Engineer supports our Purpose by providing engineering support for specialized aircraft , engine, and component repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting accomplished on the Southwest fleet. T his role will focus on providing Engineering support and expertise to the Southwest Technical Operations organization. The Senior Engineer is detail oriented and a strategic thinker who looks forward to making a meaningful impact on Technical Operations at Southwest.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week.The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and process manufacturer's service documents (Service Bulletins, Service Letters, etc.), regulatory requirements (Airworthiness Directives, Notice of Proposed Rule Making, Code of Federal Regulations, etc.)
• Develop and substantiate in-house repairs and modifications for implementation into the SWA maintenance program
• Develop and substantiate reliability improvements through research, root-cause analysis and implementation through corrective action plans
• Conduct various types of cost / benefit analysis
• Collaborate with other departments such as Planning, Supply Chain, Quality, Production and other Stakeholders for assigned projects to develop project implementation plans
• Troubleshoot and resolve in-service issues
• Develop Engineering documentation to support resolution of in-service issues
• Participate in and coordinate activities related to OEM, Supplemental Type Certificate Holder, and PMA products
• Review and approve Engineering documents such as Engineering Orders, Drawings, etc.
• Provide mentorship to Junior Team members and may include training new Employees.
• May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Pay & Benefits :

Competitive market salary from $114,200 per year to $126,900 per year
