Guest Experience Supervisor

The Guest Experience (GE) Supervisor works with management, and the guest experience staff to ensure an excellent Guest Experience at the Atlanta Botanical Garden Gainesville.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Supervises and schedules all Guest Experience associates on a monthly schedule
  • Adjust schedules as needed due to sickness, emergencies, etc.
  • Works front desk - 24 hours, 16 hours in office area, work schedule is 8 : 30 - 5, Tues-Sat, and will be MOD (Manager on Duty) Tues-Sat
  • Prints weekly event schedule for staff and communicates garden activities
  • Ensures that all general garden information is relayed to team (special hours, events, new membership information, etc.)
  • Reviews MOD recap and sends to the Director for resolution of any problems
  • Works with Atlanta GE to set up all tickets in Acme for regular and special events
  • Schedules garden tours and submits to Special Events for the event calendar
  • Sends monthly reports to accounting for scooter rentals
  • Sends monthly reports to Membership to submit any new membership commissions earned
  • Ensures that gift shop items are stocked and stays in communication with GE Manager if product is low
  • Be aware of discounts and notify team of discounts, ensures that proper branded signage is up in gift shop
  • Stays in communication with Membership regarding any mailings, special membership offers, any member problems
  • Submits disciplinary concerns to the Director to resolve
  • Assists with hiring any new GE associates and provides insight for staff reviews
  • Trains GE associates
  • Handles any special ticket requests - complimentary tickets or gift tickets for local charities, etc
  • Checks website to ensure Gainesville Garden information is correct
  • Supervises cleaning staff and schedules them for special events
  • Orders janitorial supplies

Qualifications

  • Preferred 1 year of retail experience
  • Strong customer service skills; experience working in a customer-focused capacity
  • Flexibility of schedule to work shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Experience with POS systems and daily balancing receipts
  • Multi-tasking and organizational abilities
  • Flexibility and capability to adapt to changes in daily routine and visitor needs
  • Basic math and computer skills required
  • Physical Requirements

  • Intermittent standing and walking with extended periods of sitting at desk or working at point-of-sale computer
  • Position requires visual acuity to read details presented on a computer screen
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and card swipe reader
  • Manual dexterity to open and operate a cash drawer
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Mental Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively respond to multiple, changing and often conflicting priorities is essential
  • Must be able to effectively interact with the general public of all dispositions and maintain a calm, friendly and pleasant demeanor at all times
