Project Manager 2 (NY HELPS - NO EXAM REQUIRED)

Project Manager 2, G-23

Duties include, but are not limited to :

• Lead small and medium size projects and ensure that all are delivered on time, in scope, and within budget;
• Develop project management plans, e.g. scope, schedule, risk, resources, change, communications, and quality;
• Define scope including identifying and clarifying the business need, define project goals, identify what is in and what is out of scope, project constraints, and key deliverables;
• Develop a project schedule using MS Project including define tasks, identify dependencies, assign resources, estimate effort, identify critical path, and control schedule;
• Direct and manage the work defined in the project management plans;
• Record and report project schedule progress, as well as compile project reports and communicates project status;
• Create change requests, manage the impact of change requests, and communicate decisions;
• Manage communications to ensure that everyone involved and interested in the project is kept informed;
• Perform risk management throughout the project lifecycle to minimize impact to the project and escalate to management as appropriate;
• Review deliverables, document project closure, transition to operations, and archive project records for use on future projects;
• Design, develop and refines project management templates and process improvement to support adoption of DMV's project management methodologies;
• Train and mentor project managers, team members, and sponsors in the project management function, importance, and plan development techniques;
• Perform the full range of supervisory duties.
