About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Hours per Shift : 12

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level III NICU required.

Full-time Level III NICU experience is required.

License :

Valid state license required.

Certifications : BLS required.

NRP required.

Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required but can submit with that pending.

Must-Have :

Candidates must have strong experience with the following :

High Frequency Ventilators.

Conventional ventilators.

Non-invasive positive pressure ventilation (NIPPV / NIMV).

CPAP / BiPAP.

IV fluid management, including drips.

Hemodynamic support.

Post-operative care.

Whole body cooling.

Admissions.

IV placements.

Lab draws (heel and venous).

Wound / drain / line care.

Ostomy care.

Central line dressing changes.

IV fluid changes.

Titrating IV fluids.

ABG interpretation.

Medication calculations.

Assistance with intubation, lumbar puncture, PICC placement / dressing change, umbilical line placement, and chest tube placement required.

Candidates must also float within their scope of practice.

Description :

The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to neonates and infants in a Level III NICU.

You will be responsible for managing patients with various critical conditions, including extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome, and sepsis.

Nurses in the unit will engage in interdisciplinary support, collaborating with physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

Daily patient census is approximately 54.

Patient ratios during the day are typically 2 to 3.

Nurses must be flexible and willing to work weekends and holidays as required.

Floating to other areas for newborn care might also be necessary.

Candidates must be proficient in various equipment, including ECMO and Drager Ventilators.

The ideal candidate is highly skilled in assessment, critical thinking, and fast-paced emergency situations associated with neonatal care.
