Medical Laboratory Billing Manager (on-site)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Billing Manager to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of our billing operations within a healthcare laboratory setting. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership skills, deep knowledge of revenue cycle processes, and a passion for driving results while mentoring a team.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the billing team, fostering collaboration and accountability.

Oversee processes including billing, posting, accounts receivables, denial management, and correspondence review.

Monitor key metrics such as Days in AR, Aging above 90 days, and Collections to ensure financial performance.

Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports using both the billing system and Excel.

Identify trends, initiate corrective action plans, and resolve AR issues.

Handle and resolve complex client and payer issues in a timely manner.

Ensure accurate invoicing and on-time collection of monthly payments while maintaining thorough records of invoices, deposits, and related correspondence.

Generate and distribute management reports with accuracy and timeliness.

Interact effectively with clients, payers, and internal stakeholders.

Adhere to organizational policies and compliance standards, leading by example with the highest ethical behavior.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in medical laboratory billing or healthcare revenue cycle management.

Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and billing system tools.

Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 codes and medical terminology.

Strong communication skills to work with insurance payers, facility clients, and patients.

Customer service experience with diverse patient populations.

Problem-solving skills to resolve denials, appeals, and collections.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
