About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

License : Active RN License

Must-Have :

• Experience in MS / Tele and PCU / ICU settings
• Ability to float between units

Description :

Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit.

The nurse will regularly float to MS Tele and low-level ICU.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 5 during days, 1 : 6 during nights, and 1 : 6 on weekends.

The position requires 1 to 2 years of experience, with community hospital experience preferred.

First-time travelers are welcomed to apply.

Holiday shifts may be required per department needs.

Weekend coverage is mandated every other weekend.

The clinician will float within their scope to meet facility needs.

Mandatory certifications include ACLS and BLS; NIHSS is preferred.

Essential skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and management of dysrhythmias.

Experience with insulin drip titration, feeding tube care, IV therapy, and phlebotomy is essential.

Medications management includes non-titration and titration of cardiac drips.

The nurse should be proficient in respiratory support methods, such as external CPAP / BIPAP.

Knowledge of isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac management is essential.

Candidates should have experience with adult and geriatric patients, commonly involving post-surgery cases.

The unit caters to acute and swingbed patients in therapy.

Low-level PCU / ICU are the primary care areas, typically managing DKA patients and those requiring BiPap.

The work environment includes interdisciplinary support from services such as physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy.
