TECH SUPPLY LIAISON

This position is with Lifeguard Air Emergency Services and is focused on ambulance fleet management, driving, and managing supplies / equipment. Applicants must be able to pass a DOT physical. This is not a patient care position Sign-On Bonus Available Receive 17% Weekday Nights, 26% Weekend Nights and 15% Weekend Day shift differentials Minimum Offer $ 16.59 / hr. Maximum Offer $ 22.95 / hr. Department : Lifeguard RTP FTE : 1.00 Full Time Shift : Days Position Summary : Responsible for all aspects and oversight of medical equipment and supplies for the Ground Fleet and aircraft. Duties include maintaining stock of disposable goods, monitoring and ensuring PM or repair of equipment, maintaining Ground Fleet to include service, repairs, stock and end of month checks. Functions as ground ambulance operator on an as needed basis for purpose of transporting patient and medical crew. Ensure adherence to hospital and department policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include; Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric Age Groups. Detailed responsibilities :

• EQUIPMENT - Manages equipment and storage room operations; supervises receipt, storage and transport of materials maintained in equipment room
• STOCK - Monitors stock par levels of standard and special order supplies; orders and retrieves par supplies from main campus as needed; maintain adequate stock of blood products, ensure compliance with Blood Monitoring program
• SUPPLIES – Provides special order assistance with purchase and stocking of special order supplies
• REPAIRS - Equipment repairs and daily inventory checks of spare medical equipment, ensure repair and PM for any medical equipment as needed; maintains annual inventory of all capital equipment
• PARTICIPATE – Self identifies and assists with duties necessary to maintain normal operations of the program not available via ancillary support services; participates in program activities such as committees, equipment, supply, and medication acquisition and management, vehicle and equipment maintenance, departmental QA / QI, outreach initiatives, which may include teaching continuing education or certification classes to cohorts
• REPAIRS - Monitor and schedule PM and service needs of ground fleet; ensure any identified deficiencies or repairs are completed to maintain fleet in optimal condition; monitor and complete preventative maintenance for all ground fleet vehicles
• Fleet - Complete daily checks of fleet support vehicles and ground ambulance utilizing vehicle inspection tool for purpose of documenting and cataloging deficiencies
• CLEANING – Preforms daily cleaning, wash and wax exterior as needed, perform decontamination procedures as needed for all Ground Fleet vehicles
• EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES - Assist medical crew in completing daily checks of medical equipment and supplies in all air and ground ambulances; assist with restock as needed
• TRANSPORT – Operate ground ambulance for patient transport; comply with all Department of Transportation and New Mexico Emergency Medical Services regulations for operating a ground ambulance; operate program fleet support vehicles
• REGULATIONS - Operate within State of New Mexico EMS Bureau's regulations for Ambulance services, to include but not limited to identification of appropriate level of response and transport of patients, radio communications, use of navigational systems, weather radar, Pre-Hospital scene operations and scene safety, inter-department operations for multi-agency response, incident command
• SAFETY - Understand and operate safely within Medical Transport environment, including working within Ground ambulance vehicles; contribute to a safe working environment for all team members and patients
• PATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
• PATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
• PATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report / correct environmental conditions and / or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
• PATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and / or near misses in a timely manner
• PATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right" Qualifications Education : Essential :
• High School or GED Equivalent Experience : Essential : 1 year directly related experience Nonessential : Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo 2 years directly related experience Credentials : Essential :
• Emergency Medical Technician Basic License
• CPR for Healthcare / BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers
• Valid New Mexico Driver's License
• UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit w / in 60 days
• Emergency Vehicle Operation Safety Training Cert w / in 60 day Nonessential :
• EMT-I or EMT-P Physical Conditions : Very Heavy Work : Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
