Position Overview
1st Step Healthcare Training is seeking a skilled and compassionate CNA Clinical Instructor to supervise and mentor students in real-world healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse (RN) with clinical instructor experience, committed to preparing future Certified Nursing Assistants with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism needed for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students during clinical rotations in long-term care and / or healthcare facilities.
- Demonstrate and reinforce proper patient care techniques, ensuring compliance with state and facility standards.
- Monitor, evaluate, and document student performance during clinicals.
- Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to help students build confidence and competence.
- Ensure patient safety while overseeing student interactions with residents.
- Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and high-quality care.
- Communicate with the Program Director regarding student progress, concerns, or curriculum updates.
Qualifications
Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of Michigan.Minimum of 3 years nursing experience (long-term care, geriatrics, or acute care preferred).Previous clinical instructor or teaching experience preferred.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to motivate, guide, and support students from diverse backgrounds.Schedule & Compensation
