Job Summary

Conducts University Courses for undergraduate students by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers lectures to students.
• Compiles specialized materials for assignments.
• Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, or assigns this work to others.
• Relevant duties will pertain to teaching Intro to Music.

Course specifics

Teaching students to recognize the different listening elements as they pertain to the following musical eras.

Middle Ages (450-1450)

Classic (1750-1820)

Romantic (1850-1900)

Black genres in music (1900- to the present) ring shouts, spirituals blues, ragtime, R&B, neo soul, hip hop and the genesis of these forms.

Physical Demands

Moderate lifting up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend and reach.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a university campus environment. All classes are currently taught in-person and faculty are required to be present on campus to teach their courses. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions and protection from weather conditions.
