Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with an active NM or compact RN license and strong critical care background.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

Position located in an intensive care unit in a hospital setting

Direct patient care for critically ill adult populations

12-hour shifts with a mix of days (07 : 00-19 : 30) and nights (19 : 00-07 : 30)

Weekend and on-call responsibilities as needed

Floating required between departments or locations within a 20-mile radius

Epic EMR system utilized; onsite training provided if needed

Responsibilities include assessment, planning, and coordination of patient care in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams

Expected to supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel

Document care, administer medications, and implement physician orders according to protocol

Completion of unit-specific competency testing and education required

All orientation and BCA testing completed onsite at start of assignment

\n \n Requirements\n

Active NM or compact RN license required

Minimum of two years current ICU experience required

At least one previous 13-week travel assignment required

BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA, American Health & Safety, or Red Cross accepted)

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required

Must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during orientation, with one retest permitted

No local candidates permitted; must reside at least 50 miles from facility

Former staff must wait one year before being eligible as a traveler
