job_description.job_card.job_descriptionPosition is in an acute care Cardiac Telemetry unit Patient ratios range from 1 : 3 to 1 : 4 on Tower 7 Patient cases include CABG, MVR, STEMI, heart failure, vascular repair, and post-op cardiovascular surgery RNs must titrate drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone GE telemetry packs and monitors are used on the unit Cerner is the EMR in use Day shifts are 12 hours with self-scheduling permitted Requires 3-4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks and coverage for 2 out of 4 major holidays Navy blue scrubs are required, but not provided Unit-specific orientation lasts 2 days RNs are responsible for titrating cardiac drips and interpreting telemetry rhythms Collaboration with off-unit tele techs and a resource / charge nurse who typically does not take patients Physical Therapist (PCT) support is 1 PCT per 16 beds Cpap, BiPap, and high-flow nasal cannula respiratory equipment is used on the unit All travelers may float to other applicable areas as needed First day includes a pass / fail SIMs Lab on sterile technique; competence in these areas is expected for continued assignment Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing, and all nurses must have natural hair color and no facial piercings Former employees of the health system within the past year are not eligible for consideration Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility as verified by driver’s license Active AZ or compact RN license required at the time of consideration Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with Level 1 trauma experience required Current BLS certification required Ability to interpret common telemetry rhythms is necessary Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance, with 2 attempts permitted Must pass a sterile technique SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes on day 1 Experience with post-op cardiovascular surgery patients is highly recommended Driver’s license required for eligibility and to meet the 50-mile radius requirement High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
