Job Overview :

A boutique family law firm based in Knoxville, Tennessee is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-asset divorce and custody cases. The ideal candidate will bring at least two years of experience in family law, a strong command of Tennessee statutes and court procedures, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment. Relocation to Knoxville is required.

Location : Duties :

Meet with clients to assess case details and develop litigation strategy

Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and court orders related to divorce, child custody, adoption, and termination matters

Apply Tennessee family law, including local court rules, statutes, and evidentiary procedures

Attend court hearings and advocate on behalf of clients

Collaborate with and delegate tasks to assigned legal support staff

Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of case files and client interactions

Manage a fast-paced caseload while ensuring timely and quality work product

Requirements :

Minimum of 2–3 years of experience practicing family law

Familiarity with domestic litigation including divorce, custody, and adoption cases

Ability to manage multiple deadlines with a high level of organization

Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and staff

Commitment to excellence and a proactive approach to client advocacy

Education :

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications :

Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Tennessee

Skills :

Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills

In-depth knowledge of Tennessee family law, civil procedure, and evidence

High attention to detail and accuracy

Excellent organizational, time management, and delegation abilities

Ability to maintain professionalism in high-conflict and emotionally charged situations

Proficiency in legal research and document preparation tools
