Level 1 : Residential Support Specialist

Key Recovery provides comprehensive substance use disorder treatment and work skills training to help low-income, high-risk patients achieve sustained recovery and rebuild their lives. We offer a unique combination of long-term residential clinical treatment, work skills training, and transitional housing. For more information visit keyrecovery.org.

Provides direct care and support to residents in Key Recovery’s Long-Term Substance Use Disorder Treatment program. Ensures safety, supports treatment compliance, and assists with daily living activities.

Schedule : Monday-Friday 6 : 00 a.m. - 2 : 30 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Perform regular safety checks and facility rounds.
  • Assist with housekeeping and ensure cleanliness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication logs.
  • Complete all mandatory training, as scheduled and required to advance to Level 2.
  • Ensure property and resident safety through making rounds of all resident rooms throughout all shifts.
  • Read and understand Staff Handbook, and Patient Handbooks for both LTR and RH.
  • Model appropriate behavior, communication and dress code according to Key Recovery policies.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of substance use disorders.
  • CPR / First Aid certification, within 30 days of hiring.
  • Valid WA driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
  • Requirements :

    Level 2 : Residential Support Specialist

    Position Overview :

    In addition to Level 1 duties, provides mentorship to new staff, supports individualized treatment plans, and takes the initiative in resolving complex resident needs.

    Additional Responsibilities :

  • Mentor and support onboarding of new Residential Support Specialists.
  • Monitor and document self-administration of medication.
  • Transport patients using agency vehicles when needed.
  • Collaborate more closely with clinical staff on treatment goals.
  • Lead shift documentation and ensure compliance with reporting standards.
  • Assist in training on medication monitoring and safety protocols.
  • Take the lead on incident reporting and follow-up.
  • Additional Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated competency and experience in residential SUD setting
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring ability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Achievement of Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor credential – (application required within 30 days of achieving Level 2).
  • Level 3 : Residential Support Specialist

    Position Overview :

    Provides leadership and oversight of residential operations. Ensures compliance with policies and serves as a liaison between residential and clinical teams.

    Additional Responsibilities :

  • Conduct patient intake and orientation.
  • Serve as trainer for shadowing new staff members.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact for escalated issues and emergencies.
  • Monitor facility maintenance needs and coordinate with administration.
  • Leadership Qualifications :

  • 3–5 years of experience in residential care, including supervisory experience.
  • Associate’s degree or coursework in Human Services or related field preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage conflict.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Work Environment :

  • Residential treatment facility with 24 / 7 operations.
  • May require evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
