American Traveler is seeking an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with at least one year of cardiac experience and RCS or RDCS certification for a day shift assignment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital-based echocardiography departmentPerform adult and geriatric studies, with occasional adolescent and pediatric examsDuties include transthoracic echo, transesophageal, and stress testing including dobutamine and treadmill exercise stress echo, as well as carotid duplex studiesCovers variable 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with shift start times between 7 : 00 AM and 9 : 00 AMWeekend coverage rotation required from 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PMOccasional on-call coverage may be requestedFloating to multiple units or locations as neededPatient care using both stationary and portable ultrasound equipmentIndependently perform and record non-invasive ultrasound studies and provide preliminary impressions to physiciansAdapt sonographic procedures to evaluate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic disease processesServe as clinical instructor for students and participate in instruction of fellows, residents, and visiting physiciansMay participate in clinical research and act as a resource for staff across the health systemStrict pass / fail telemetry test required with limited retake allowance prior to startOrientation schedules vary by department and may not always begin on MondayScrubs are requiredHolidays and weekend rotations required per department needs\n \n Requirements\n
Minimum of 1 year cardiac sonography experience requiredRegistered in echocardiography (RCS or RDCS) requiredBLS certification through American Heart Association requiredAssociate degree in Biological Sciences, Radiology, Ultrasound, or similar health sciences field and completion of a CAAHEP-approved ultrasound program requiredMust reside at least 50 miles from facility for considerationFirst-time travelers accepted in some unitsSuccessful completion of pre-employment telemetry exam requiredLicense required if applicable\n Benefits\n
