Our physician led medical group enjoys an excellent reputation with patients and the medical community, offering primary care, urgent care and more than 30 different specialties.\n\nJob Description\n\nDemonstrates clinical competence performing infusion treatments by utilizing the nursing process and the Infusion Nurses Society (INS) Standards of Care. Establishes trusting patient relationships to develop individualized plan of care. Provides holistic teaching and ensures understanding of infusion treatments. Continually evaluates the plan of care provided and identifying the appropriate problems / needs to improve patient outcomes\n\n
- Proficiently inserts Peripheral IV's, access or de-access chest ports, intramuscular injections, and venipuncture per protocol and INS standards.\n\n
- Mixing medications from vials into appropriate dilute solutions and priming in appropriate tubing for infusible drugs per infection and office protocols.\n\n
- Hanging and titrating chemotherapy, immunotherapies, and other infusible medications as ordered by office protocols.\n\n
- Educates the patient and caregivers of the disease process and expectations of the health care delivery system throughout the course of care, to ensure the complex needs of the patient are met.\n\n
- Identifies gaps or barriers in treatment care plans to ensure that patients receive appropriate resources and services.\n\n
- Evaluates plan of care and revises as needed determined by patient's health status and communicates changes to multidisciplinary team involved in the patient's care.\n\n
- Perform other related duties as required\n\n
- Infusion Nurse to travel to both Mystic and Norwich locations\n\nQualifications\n\n
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred\n\n
- Relevant experience in a fast-paced medical office highly preferred.\n\n
- Epic experience preferred.\n\n
- Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellent patient care.\n\n
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment juggling multiple competing tasks and demands.\n\n
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.\n\n
- Excellent verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in other languages highly desirable.\n\n
- Strong computer skills. Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.\n\n
- Basic working knowledge of medical terminology.\n\n
- Ability to travel independently to satellite offices with or without advanced notice.\n\n
