Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level II Emergency Department night shift position requiring NE or compact license and advanced certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a 27-bed Emergency Room within an acute care hospital
  • Level II trauma center treating patients of all ages
  • 12-hour night shifts with weekend requirements every third weekend; self-scheduling is allowed
  • Phlebotomy available for lab draws; aids, EMTs, and paramedics provide additional team support
  • Uses Epic EMR; prior experience preferred
  • No floating required
  • Rotating holiday coverage is required
  • Responsible for delivering emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
  • Work collaboratively with a team that includes EMTs, paramedics, and patient care aides
  • Must request all days off (RTO) upfront, with a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract; additional RTO not approved
  • Orientation includes a 12-hour introduction and required skills assessment
  • Scrub / dress code prohibits artificial nails
  • Candidates with recent PRN employment through outside firms may be considered

  • Active NE or compact (NLC) RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of recent emergency department RN experience
  • Current certifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (all must be active; no pending accepted)
  • Driver’s license required for verification of a permanent residence at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Cannot have been employed full time, part time, or PRN within the past year at any CommonSpirit / CHI / Dignity facility
  • Must achieve 90% on an open book pass / fail orientation exam covering required clinical skills
  • Artificial nails are prohibited while providing patient care
