Experience : Minimum 2 years of Critical Care experience

License : Current RN license

Certifications : Current BLS, Current ACLS

Must-Have :

• EPIC charting experience
• Ability to float to other units including Med / Surg

Description :

The Cardiovascular Unit is a 30 bed unit that provides medical, pre-operative and post-operative surgical care to admitted patients that are generally classified as medium to high acuity.

Patients admitted to the unit are stable but have a high potential of becoming unstable.

These patients often have higher complexity and existing co-morbidities.

They require a higher level of nursing care than found on general patient care units.

The patient population served consists of young adults through the geriatric community.

Examples of patients admitted include those with cardiac diagnoses, pre / post cardiac artery bypass surgery, and carotid endarterectomy.

Other conditions treated include Acute Myocardial Infarction, post pacemaker insertion, arrhythmia detection, CHF, pneumonia, and similar disease processes.

The patient to nurse ratio shall not exceed 1 : 4.

Holiday coverage is required.
