Role Overview
As a Network Developer with 1-3 years of experience, you'll be working with senior engineers and network architects to build, automate, maintain, and optimize network infrastructure. You'll gain hands-on exposure to network protocols, devices, cloud networking, monitoring, and the kinds of challenges that come with operating networks at scale. This is a growth role where learning, collaboration, and problem solving are key.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in designing, deploying, and maintaining network components - routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc.
Write automation scripts (e.g. Python, Bash) to streamline repetitive network tasks (configuration, deployment, monitoring).
Troubleshoot network issues : connectivity, latency, path failures, etc.
Monitor network performance and health; use tools to collect metrics, logs; help with root cause analysis of incidents.
Support configuration management : versioning, backups, change tracking.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Security, Systems) to ensure network changes are aligned with overall system requirements.
Document network architecture, processes, diagrams, standard operating procedures.
Stay updated on networking standards, protocols, best practices.Qualifications
Required :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent OR equivalent hands-on experience.
1-3 years of experience in network development, network operations, or related roles.
Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking fundamentals : TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing & switching (OSPF / BGP encouraged).
Experience with network monitoring / diagnostic tools (ping, traceroute, Wireshark, etc.).
Some scripting ability (Python, Bash, or similar) for automation and tooling.
Understanding of configuration management / version control (Git or similar).
Good problem-solving skills, ability to analyze logs, trace issues.
Communication skills for collaborating with other teams and writing documentation.
Preferred :
Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, Google Cloud networking).
Experience with Software-Defined Networking (SDN) or virtualization (VXLAN, GENEVE, etc.).
Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Juniper JNCIA, or equivalent.
Exposure to infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
Understanding of network security (firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, etc.).
What You'll Learn / Growth
Hands-on experience with enterprise-scale networks and cloud infrastructure.
More automation, scripting, and tool building.
Exposure to network design, planning, and architecture.
Opportunity to move into specialization (e.g. security, performance, routing, SDN) or senior roles.
