Join us as the Assistant Operations Director and help shape a plant where disciplined execution meets continuous improvement. You will guide production teams, champion SPC-driven quality, reduce spoilage, and ensure we deliver for customers—safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Your mission
Transform daily operations into a model of excellence by aligning people, processes, and performance :
- Champion the customer : Serve as the go-to liaison for quality and service, resolving issues and protecting customer commitments.
- Engineer better ways of working : Implement continuous improvement to lift efficiency, optimize labor absorption, and improve safety.
- Elevate quality : Deploy SPC, run root-cause investigations, and close corrective actions.
- Own safety : Ensure teams have the information, tools, and procedures needed to operate safely; drive hazard reduction toward zero.
- Manage the P&L levers : Review operational reports; control costs and overtime to meet plan.
- Stay connected : Provide internal and external communications, as needed, 24 hours a day to keep the operation synchronized.
- Grow talent : Build training and safety programs; develop employees for future roles; directly supervise plant personnel (headcount varies).
- Partner to win : Work closely with the Plant Manager and HR on personnel matters; coordinate with production planning on schedules and staffing; align with corporate on planning initiatives.
- Deliver initiatives : Support strategic customer projects and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
Background we value
Associate’s degree or a proven leadership track record within packaging operations.5+ years of management experience in high-volume manufacturing.Demonstrated success implementing improvement methods on the shop floor.Experience leading self-directed workforces.Environment & physical demands
Active manufacturing setting with moving machinery and noise; frequent use of computer, cell phone, and printer / fax.Hearing protection and assigned PPE required.Temperatures fluctuate and can reach around 90 degrees; environment may include fumes, dust, and odors.Regular standing, walking, and hand use; frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.Ability to frequently lift and / or move up to 20 pounds; vision requirements include close, distance, and color recognition.Skills & proficiencies
