Position Summary
We’re seeking a Project Designer / Project Design Architect to join our growing Miami studio — a creative leader who can turn ideas into experiences. This role is ideal for an architect who thrives on both creativity and technical rigor, balancing design vision with strategic execution. You’ll help define design narratives for world-class hospitality and destination projects, collaborating across disciplines to deliver innovative, functional, and contextually rich solutions that embody OBMI’s design excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to design development, from conceptual sketches to detailed documentation and client presentations.
Guide spatial planning, material palettes, and overall architectural composition for luxury hospitality and destination projects.
Interpret client aspirations and translate them into compelling design solutions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — including technical, landscape, and interior design — to ensure design integrity and seamless project delivery.
Mentor junior designers, fostering creativity, collaboration, and design growth.
Participate in client workshops and presentations, articulating design ideas with clarity and confidence.
Support technical detailing, coordination with consultants, and review of drawings and submittals to ensure design compliance.
Conduct site visits, contribute to construction administration, and maintain clear design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Research materials, typologies, and sustainable design strategies to inform and elevate design outcomes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
9–11 years of professional experience, preferably in hospitality or destination design.
Licensed or registered architect (AIA, RIBA, ARB, or equivalent).
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Knowledge of computational design tools (Grasshopper) a plus.
Strong visualization, presentation, and communication skills.
Experience coordinating with structural, MEP, and interior design consultants.
Knowledge of hospitality programming, brand standards, and sustainable design principles.
Demonstrates leadership, organization, and the ability to manage multiple design priorities.
