Salary Range : $95,000 - $120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

CFS is partnering with a respected and growing organization in South Bend, Indiana to hire a strategic and detail-oriented Controller . This key leadership role will oversee all aspects of the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while providing strategic guidance to senior leadership.
The Controller will manage the accounting team, implement best practices, and drive process improvements to support company growth. Position : Fully in-office in South Bend, IN | Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm
Key Responsibilities of the Controller
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and all regulatory requirements
Manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors and tax professionals
Implement and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting systems
Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making
Oversee cash flow management, banking relationships, and financial planning initiatives
Qualifications for the Controller
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required (CPA or MBA preferred)
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or controller-level role
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results under deadlines
