Job Summary / Objective of Job
The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of building facilities, ensuring a safe and functional environment. This role involves performing routine maintenance tasks, addressing repair needs, and supporting the installation of new equipment.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
- Repair and replace defective equipment and components
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for major repairs and projects
- Work professionally with outside vendors and contractors
- Fabricate or install new equipment as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED EquivalentProven experience in building maintenance or a related field - Will train the right candidate!Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipmentBasic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems preferred but not requiredAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints preferred but not requiredStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of safe work practicesPhysical Demands
