Senior Mechanical Designer

Job Summary :

This is an office-based position in Salt Lake City for an established and reputable mechanical contractor.

The Senior Mechanical Designer will be responsible for evaluating new and existing client requests for proposals and developing cost-effective mechanical and plumbing solutions that are technically sound, accurate, and energy-efficient. This role requires expertise in HVAC and plumbing system design, project coordination, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assess client proposals and develop mechanical / plumbing solutions that align with project needs and budget considerations.
• Create schematic-level drawings based on preliminary load calculations to support material take-offs and equipment pricing.
• Contribute in developing project proposals, basis of design narratives, and life cycle cost analyses for various HVAC / plumbing systems.
• Conduct presentations for general contractors or owners on HVAC and plumbing engineering topics related to proposed mechanical solutions.
• Attend project start meetings and design / construction coordination meetings.
