Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist with acute care experience and proficiency in modified barium swallow studies for a day shift contract position.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a hospital-based speech therapy department
  • Monday through Friday day shift, 8 : 00am to 5 : 30pm
  • On-call rotation is required
  • Role involves acute care caseload with bedside and modified barium swallow studies
  • Frequent treatment of patients with tracheostomies
  • Provide assessment and treatment for acute care speech, language, and swallowing disorders
  • Perform and document modified barium swallow studies
  • On-call responsibilities may include urgent evaluations or interventions
  • Travel pairs are not permitted on this assignment
  • No local candidates within a 100-mile radius will be considered
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active Kentucky or compact state Speech Language Pathology license required, if applicable
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience as a speech therapist
  • Current BLS certification from AHA required
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Competence with bedside and modified barium swallow studies required
  • Certification in FEES and VitalStim preferred
  • Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
  • Must be comfortable working with patients with tracheostomies
