The Food & Beverage Supervisor is assists with theleading the overall operation of the hotel's food & beverage operations,helps with hiring front of house staff, involved in purchasing inventory, andcontributes to Food & Beverage department profitability, and guestsatisfaction scores. This supervisory role plays a key role in training banquetand restaurant Servers and Bartenders on proper service, proper and legalalcoholic beverage service, and food safety and health standards.
Schedule : We are currently seeking full-time availability to include both weekdays and weekends.
Pay : $19.00 / hour.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Monitors adherence to quality and safety standards
- Works closely with the F&B manager and culinary team to provide and ensure efficient service
- Promotes teamwork within the Food and Beverage department and between other departments to ensure smooth operations and quality service
- Food and Beverage Supervisors must also have a the capability of handling sudden situations that arise, such as staff or customer complaints, lack of inventory, and lack of staff members
- Supervises front of the house associates including staff direction, coaching, training and evaluating
- Monitors the service of food and drinks to guests and customers, and demonstrates knowledge of labor laws and health compliance regulations, customer satisfaction and brand standards
- Manages the daily activities of the food and beverage function
- Rallies the team during heavy shifts, resolves conflicts, and does what it takes to get the job done
- Keeps eyes on a lot of elements : food standards, costs, safety, etc.
- Inspects equipment to determine repair or maintenance needs and cleanliness
- Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs
- Participates in the hire of new front of house staff, selecting, department training and evaluating performance expectations
- Carries out disciplinary action as needed and according to policies and procedure
- Maintains pertinent and appropriate records, reports, files, and schedules
- Ensures all employees are informed of any changes to liquor licensing legislation
- Assists with on-the-job training, and evaluates staff responsible Service and Alcohol testing
- Works as a team player and interacts with all internal and external customers in a friendly / efficient manner
- Treats all guests in a manner that ensures their complete satisfaction
- Strives to exceed guest expectations and meet brand standards
- Provides quality customer service and continuous improvement in all areas of responsibility
- Ensures ambiance and appearance of the dining room meets standards including linens, napkins, silverware, table set-up, centerpieces, etc.
- Ensures that dining room service is in compliance with all local, federal and state regulations in relation to service, sanitation and personnel
- Supervises and coordinates set-up and execution of internal and external events throughout the property
- Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing, and prioritizing work duties
- Adheres to Sherman Associates attendance policy, grooming and appearance standards, general work rules, and department procedures
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment, follows all procedures for guests and employee incidents and is knowledgeable for hotel emergency procedures
- Attends all required department and hotel meetings
- Ensures all policies and procedures related to safety, health and sanitation standards are followed, including but not limited to MSDS information, safe work practices, infection control and universal precautions
Supervisory Responsibility
As applicable, supervises, coaches, directs, trains and evaluates staff; prepares and conducts employee reviews and completes timecard approvals.
Minimum Requirements :
Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relationsAbility to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multi-lingual environmentHaving an eye for detail and creativity to look at things differently will be a key to developing the food and beverage experienceAble to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in EnglishProficiency with computers and computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookRequires 1 year supervisory experience, preferably in a restaurant, club, hotel, or service industry requiredAbility to work long shifts for special events and large crowdsSound knowledge of restaurant management softwareExcellent verbal, written and presentation skills; ability to communicate effectively with community partners, vendors / external parties, and across internal divisionsA passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman AssociatesSchedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotelPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit or stand in designated work area or other areas of the property throughout the day based on business needsMust have the ability to move around freely throughout the designated work area and property, and necessity varies from day to dayMust be able to exert well-paced ability to reach tables and kitchen, as well as other departments of the hotel in a timely manner as neededMust be able to lift up to 25-30 lbs. frequently throughout shift, and lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionallyRequires grasping, writing, sitting or standing, using computer, moving about freely, repetitive motions, bending, reaching, crouching, and communicating effectivelyMust be willing and able to wash hands frequently throughout the shiftBenefits : Benefits :
