job_description.job_card.job_descriptionWork in a 12-bed Labor & Delivery unit with perinatal and postpartum areas in an acute care hospital Unit includes 12 L&D beds, 10 triage beds, and 12 antepartum beds, averaging 200 births per month Responsibilities include care for high-risk obstetric patients aged 20 weeks and above, including cases with hypertension, multiples, diabetes, lack of prenatal care, and substance abuse Follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios Experience with fetal monitoring (Fetal Link system), circulating for C-sections, and scrub experience preferred Uses Cerner EMR 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required Floating to antepartum and postpartum units as needed is required No call requirements Scrub uniforms provided; sterile attire required One major and two minor holiday shifts are required each assignment Work alongside an L&D team including charge nurses, OB techs, and in-house OB and neonatologists, as well as RT and pharmacy available 24 / 7 Three-shift on-unit orientation provided Travel nursing experience is preferred Mandatory RNs must cover assigned major and minor holidays First-time travelers will be considered All staff must pass a sterile technique exam and demonstrate competency in Foley catheter and central line dressing changes during orientation Nails must be natural; acrylic or overlay nails are prohibited Active CA RN license required at time of application Minimum of 4 years recent L&D experience, including high-risk deliveries Current certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Experience with pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, and high-risk delivery protocols required Relevant C-section circulating experience required; scrub experience is preferred Documented references : one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and an additional peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years Copy of driver's license is required for consideration Acrylic or overlay nails are not permitted during assignment Previous employment within the past year with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities is not allowed High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
