Met Weld International ("MWI") is seeking a skilled and reliable Plant Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and repair equipment to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and / or electrical background, be safety-focused, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. This is a full time, hourly (non-exempt) position, based in Altamont, NY.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance according to established schedules on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Develop (or refine) and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all plant equipment and infrastructure.
• Inspect and diagnose issues with plant equipment, including motors, conveyors, pumps, valves, compressors, and HVAC systems.
• Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and appropriate machinery.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.
• Maintains files of warranties, records, licenses, inspections, service agreements, and contracts for various pieces of equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety standards and procedures.
• Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with housekeeping standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or upgrades.
• Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; recommend purchases when necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
