About The Position

Position Overview

Henry Ford Providence Hospitals are seeking a Board-Certified Physician Assistant to provide locum coverage in the General Surgery department . This hospital-based, OR-focused role offers the opportunity to work alongside a large surgical team in a state-of-the-art facility, performing robotic-assisted and non-robotic procedures .

Responsibilities :

Bedside first-assisting in robotic surgical cases (GYN, urology, general surgery, bariatrics)

Placement and closure of port sites

Occasional assistance in non-robotic surgical cases

Documentation of discharges and outpatient prescriptions as needed

Collaborate with surgeons, senior and junior residents, scrub techs, and circulating nurses

Qualifications & Requirements :

Board Certification : NCCPA – Required

State License : Active Michigan license – Required (no exceptions)

Certifications : BLS & ACLS through AHA – Required

Experience : 2–3+ years of bedside first-assist experience in robotic GYN, urology, general surgery, and bariatrics

EMR Experience : Cerner preferred
