Assistant Director of Education
Anchor Academy is a special education, therapeutic day school that specializes in trauma-informed services for students ages 10-22 with complex trauma histories, mental health issues, educational challenges, and / or behavioral difficulties. Anchor Academy offers students a supportive environment that addresses their education, clinical, pre-vocational, recreational, and behavioral needs. Individual, group, nursing, and milieu counseling are provided. Anchor Academy promotes a transformational learning experience for students who require alternative pathways for educational and emotional success and growth. The clinical framework provides students with opportunities to increase self-awareness, develop skills needed to regulate, and access various levels of educational and emotional support.
Anchor Academy utilizes unique ARC (Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency) and BCC (Building Communities of Care) treatment frameworks that focus on building individual capacities for emotion regulation, personal strengths, and healthy relationships. Certified special education teachers provide students with curriculum that is aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Framework.
Anchor Academy is seeking a highly organized and professional candidate to serve as the Assistant Director of Education. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescents, familiarity with Special Education law, DESE regulations, facilitating and implementing IEP's, facilitating meetings, developing and implementing in-service trainings, implementing curriculum, and facilitating MCAS. The Assistant Director of Education will help provide and guide the teachers with professional development opportunities as well as educational support staff.
The Assistant Director of Education will help develop innovative and individualized plans to help the students reach their educational and clinical goals. The Assistant Director of Education may be responsible for class coverage and modeling class facilitation as part of the development for the teaching staff. The Assistant Director of Education is also a member of the Administrative Team that will oversee program management, training, and development. The Assistant Director of Education will report to the Director of Education.
Schedule : Monday - Friday 7 : 00 AM - 3 : 00 PM
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
