Job Title : Special Education Teacher (Resource – Grades K–5)

Reports To : Principal

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

Arizona Elementary Teaching Certificate or other appropriate certification

Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

SEI Endorsement (preferred)

Job Summary :

The Special Education Resource Teacher provides instruction and support to K–5 students with special needs in alignment with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). This role focuses on creating inclusive learning environments, facilitating academic growth, and ensuring compliance with educational standards and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop and deliver lessons that align with state curriculum and individual student needs

Adapt instructional materials to support various learning styles and abilities

Manage and implement IEPs effectively

Use data to track and support student progress

Collaborate with general education staff, families, and support teams

Maintain accurate records in accordance with legal and policy requirements

Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment

Participate in team meetings, school events, and professional development

Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

Uphold school procedures and professional ethics

Maintain confidentiality and serve as a role model
