Position Overview
Certified Waste Solutions - Napa Division is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project & Service Manager to oversee the installation, repair, maintenance, and overall service operations of recycling and waste equipment. This role ensures seamless coordination between project planning, service execution, and equipment lifecycle support, with a strong emphasis on safety, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The position also provides internal support to the organization on equipment-related sales transactions by ensuring operational accuracy, installation readiness, and smooth project handoffs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the installation, repair, and servicing of all equipment, including balers, compactors, shredders, and conveyors.
- Ensure all installations are properly planned, executed smoothly, and completed to the highest quality standards with direct oversight.
- Manage the service department, including scheduling and coordinating technicians for installations, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Conduct or coordinate pre-installation site visits to assess customer locations and ensure proper installation planning.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to manage equipment logistics, training, and technical support.
Operations & Efficiency
Implement strategies to enhance service efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve customer outcomes.Monitor operational costs and service performance to align with company financial goals.Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements in all equipment handling and service work.Customer Satisfaction
Serve as a client-facing leader, responsible for direct customer interaction and long-term relationship building.Conduct post-close check-ins with clients following installations and service events to ensure satisfaction and identify improvement opportunities.Build trust and rapport with clients to reinforce CWS as their long-term partner.Approach service with the understanding that sales may win the first piece of equipment, but excellent service sells the rest.Collaborate with sales to provide customer feedback that enhances offerings and strengthens retention.Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor, and develop the service and project team to ensure effective performance and career growth.Provide technical expertise and training to staff and customers on equipment operation, safety, and maintenance.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the service team.Customer Service & Sales Transaction Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer equipment service needs.Provide oversight to ensure that sales transactions involving equipment flow smoothly into installation and service operations.Address and resolve customer service issues promptly, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.Provide follow-up support to ensure equipment is operating effectively post-installation.Requirements
Strong knowledge of waste and recycling equipment, including balers, compactors, shredders, and conveyors.Proven experience managing equipment installation, service operations, or technical project management.Demonstrated ability to ensure installations are completed successfully through direct oversight.Experience coordinating teams, vendors, and contractors to deliver high-quality service outcomes.Strong financial and operational acumen, with the ability to track costs and service performance.On-site presence required at the Napa Division.Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for site visits, installations and service oversight. (Face-to- face client interaction when necessary.)Must personally conduct, or coordinate through a third party, pre-installation site visits to ensure proper installation planning.Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally.Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing technical service and installation teams in the waste and recycling industry.Familiarity with regulatory and safety standards related to recycling and waste equipment operations and installation.Previous leadership experience in a project or service management role.Why Join Us?
